Elyria police in northeast OH say the Darke County Sheriff's Department near Greenville received a call Wednesday to investigate a report about an impaired driver.

The Sheriff's Office says deputies found a man near the auto, identified as Roy Owen, Jr., wearing only his underwear and armed with a knife.

The auto had front damage from a pole, according to a news release from Elyria police.

Investigators determined he was the boyfriend suspected of taking Linnea Satterfield from her Elyria home against her will and took him into custody.

Owens held a knife up to his throat and tried to slice it, but the knife was too boring, Costantino said. When deputies approached the auto Owens placed the knife against his throat and his wrists.

Deputies discovered a deceased woman in the trunk. The cause of death is unknown.

Detectives from the Elyria Police Department are on their way to Greenville to assist with the investigation.

Satterfield's sister told police that her sister's auto was parked in the driveway at the Eastern Heights Boulevard home and her purse was sitting on the passenger side seat, the release says. They said they believe it's Satterfield.

Ms. Plumley then went to the home and found Ms. Satterfield's vehicle parked outside with her purse in the passenger's seat.

Satterfield's sister called police just before 8 p.m. Monday and asked officers to do a welfare check on her sister because she couldn't reach her on the phone. Police said that's where they found signs of a struggle and blood on the floor.

Officers checked the Charles Court home and got no response from the front door.
