Zombies and vomit: The new emoji coming soon to the iPhone

18 Juillet 2017

We've compiled all of the new emoji images released by Apple, which include some (but clearly not all) skin tone and gender variations.

While there's a handful of playful options - from a coconut and a sandwich to a "mind blown" emoji - several feature more inclusive roles for women, such as one wearing a headscarf and another breastfeeding. Apple said the emoji should "make it easier for people to express themselves with greater diversity, additional animals and creatures, new smiley faces and more".

Apple announced the 56 new emojis, and according to The Guardian, these, like all emojis, were created by the Unicode Consortium, the nonprofit organization that actually makes the emojis for public utilization. "It's perfectly fitting for everyone around the world to celebrate World Emoji Day, because emojis really do bring us all closer together - in this world of technology, the human heart has found a way to connect".

It's unclear at this point whether these emoji will become a part of Apple's upcoming iOS 11, macOS High Sierra or watchOS 4 beta builds.

If you use any type of Apple device, you might be interested in knowing that there are new emojis that are coming to various Apple products this year.
