STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI Featurette Will Give You Chills

The Last Jedi wasn't meant to be Carrie Fisher's final Star Wars movie, director Rian Johnson hopes Leia's story in the film provides a "kind of emotional satisfaction" to fans of the franchise.

And the 43-year-old filmmaker says Carrie's performance in the movie is "really beautiful", and despite the scenes not being filmed in the knowledge they would be her last, there are still moments within the feature that will "mean a lot to people".

Speaking with Good Morning America, he said: "Carrie gives a really lovely performance in the film".

Emoji expert, Vyv Evans, added: "Emoji is the world's only truly global form of communication so today's fantastically worldwide Guinness World Record attempt has been a wonderful way to celebrate this".

"He said: "[I hope it] emotionally gives some kind of catharsis.it gives some kind of emotional satisfaction.

Sinéad Grace, from Tourism Ireland, said that previous shots of Skellig Michael, in the last Star Wars film, did a "huge amount" for the area. "I think my ears have now gotten used to it, but the experience of it all. you never get used to it", he explained.

"Speaking to "Good Morning America" whilst at Disney's D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, over the weekend, Rian said: "[It was] absolutely the starting point [to making the film]. It's tough to talk about without getting into the story, but for me, I guess what it ultimately comes down to is that first question of, 'What is the deal with Luke Skywalker?' Luke and Rey are kind of the beating heart of the film, I guess, [as is] their relationship. To me, the big enigma is what's going on with Luke Skywalker. He knows the galaxy needs him. Fans can see the former Stormtrooper back in action in "The Last Jedi" on December 15 in US theaters.
