Mets GM Sandy Alderson Doesn't "Foresee" Team Calling Up Tim Tebow

17 Juillet 2017

The former Broncos Quarterback hit a walk-off home run Thursday night to help the St. Lucie Mets defeat the Daytona Tortugas 5-4.

In 2013 Tebow went nowhere with the New England Patriots and, in 2015, played for the Philadelphia Eagles in pre-season. Footage of the home run popped up on Twitter nearly immediately. "He seems to be doing well". Mets general manager Sandy Alderson says he doesn't foresee Tebow playing for the Mets this season.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Alderson said he doesn't see a scenario in which Tebow is called up from the minors.

In 14 games with his new team Tebow has 14 hits - two of which were doubles, two were home runs - and he has driven in nine runs.

Sixth casino vessel grounded on Aguada sandbar
The Congress demanded a probe on how the vessel was allowed to drift from a nearby Mormugao Port Trust berth during monsoon. The four were then taken to the MANIPAL hospital for further treatment and their condition is said to be stable.

The Mets are seven games below.500 and sitting in fourth place (out of five) in the National League East standings. "With how much skill it takes to play this game, for him to take that much time off [and compete in the minor leagues] is pretty impressive".

As I noted, though, the move made financial sense for the Mets.

After he extended his hitting streak to 12 games on Friday, Tebow is hitting.321, slugging.556 and has tallied 11 RBIs. Another promotion if he keeps hitting the way he has been, I should think. They don't own the Columbia team, but they do own St. Lucie. "I've kind of just been seeing what's popped up on Twitter, and he's doing a good job".
