Al Pacino in new Paterno movie

17 Juillet 2017

He becomes involved in his assistant coach Jerry Sandusky's sexual abuse scandal, which leads to his credibility and legacy being questioned and criticized.

Paterno was later fired by Penn State as a result of the controversy.

The film also stars Riley Keough as Sara Ganim, the 23-year-old journalist who first reported on the scandal, bringing it to the attention of the national media - and ultimately winning a Pulitzer Prize for her work.

The film, which remains untitled, also starts Annie Parisse who will play Mary Kay Paterno, Joe Paterno's daughter.

Paterno died in early 2012 of complications from lung cancer.

Vexé par les accusations de fraude fiscale du fisc espagnol, Cristiano Ronaldo (32 ans, 29 matchs et 25 buts en Liga cette saison) avait menacé de quitter le Real Madrid cet été.

When it was announced that Pacino would be the leading role, many people wondered what he would like as Paterno.

Pacino seems to have an affinity for playing the lead in HBO biopics. The Oscar victor has starred in edgy films such as Scarface, Dog Day Afternoon, Cruising, and Angels in America.

This is not the "Heat" actor's first time teaming up with HBO.

In 2013, Pacino teamed up with writer and director David Mamet in Phil Spector, the film in which he portrays the legendary and troubled record producer. Levinson directed and executive produced "You Don't Know Jack", as well as executive produced "Phil Spector".

Now in production, the movie, written by Debora Cahn (Grey's Anatomy, The West Wing) and John C. Richards (Nurse Betty) and David McKenna (American History X, Blow), does not yet have a premiere date.
