15 Juillet 2017

A person with direct knowledge of the move says the Tampa Bay Lightning have agreed to terms with left winger Ondrej Palat on a $26.5 million, five-year deal.

Earlier this week, the Lightning had announced an agreement of seven years and $ 35 million with the attacker, Tyler Johnson. The 26-year-old winger has been quite productive during his first five seasons with the Lightning, totaling 218 points (74 goals, 144 assists) in 307 games, but Tampa Bay also clearly values Palat's leadership ability, as he's served as an alternate captain for the team for the past three campaigns. The Calder Trophy is presented to the player selected as the most proficient in his first year of competition in the National Hockey League. In 307 National Hockey League games, the Czech native has 74 goals and 144 assists for 218 points.
