Jose Mourinho Wants To More Manchester United Signings

15 Juillet 2017

Mourinho, who is open to re-signing Ibrahimovic when he returns to full fitness, believes his squad needs more additions to cope with returning to the Champions League, especially as he has a number of long-term absentees.

Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci is thought to be closing in on a switch to Serie A giants AC Milan despite Chelsea boss Antonio Conte being a big admirer of the centre-half.

Manchester United abandoned their pursuit of Morata from Real Madrid to sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton earlier this month but the striker is still attracting interest from Chelsea.

"We have three or four players that only by the end of the year they can be back to football, so we need two more players I would say. It's understandable", Mourinho said from United's training camp at UCLA in Los Angeles ahead of the pre-season firiendly with LA Galaxy on Sunday.

"I don't want to be disrespectful and be speaking about the player. I am nobody to speak about players from Real Madrid", Mourinho said.

"I am nobody to talk about a player who is not from my team". We need more, we wanted four, so I would say 50 per cent of the job is done, but I don't want to say that because everything is so hard.

Chelsea will refuse to pay £80m to sign Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, according to reports in the Spanish media. We were interested. That's obvious, it was public knowledge but we didn't reach an economic agreement. "We do not determine what the price is of a player of Real Madrid, Real Madrid do that, and we didn't arrive at an agreement with Real Madrid".

"The directors made an offer which they felt was fair but even so, we didn't reach an agreement". However, the Old Trafford club were successful in beating the Blues in signing the Premier League striker.
