Disney Has Finally Cast Its Live-Action Aladdin and Jasmine

15 Juillet 2017

"Aladdin will be played by a young actor named Mena Massoud", Walt Disney Studios production president Sean Bailey announced at the D23 Expo on Saturday. Most recently Scott was seen playing the Pink Power Ranger in 2017's Power Rangers adaptation while Massoud can be seen in the Jack Ryan television series. As expected, Smith is set to give his interpretation of the film's most iconic character, the Genie, brought to life by Robin Williams in the animated film.

Dan Lin, who worked with Ritchie on Sherlock Holmes, is producing via his Lin Pictures banner, with Jonathan Eirich acting as executive producer.

At the Live panel announcing the upcoming roster of Disney movies and remakes, the full main Aladdin trio was revealed.

Selon Luke Hunter, "cette exposition précoce aux lions ne saurait contrarier des millions d'années d'évolution". Mais cette histoire digne d'un conte pour enfants pourrait contenir les ingrédients d'une future tragédie.

Aladdin will begin shooting in August in London and the film has yet to cast the villainous Jafar, the squawking Iago, the monkey Abu, and the tiger Raja.

After appearing in numerous TV shows like The 99, Saving Hope and Open Heart, tis will be his first major big screen role.

Aladdin, which is now in pre-production, does not have a release date but more information is expected to be released soon.
