Stolen Boat Leaps Out of Lake, Crashes Into Building

Police say someone stole a boat, drove it across a beach and crashed it through the side of a home on a New Hampshire lake.

Around midnight, Marine Patrol Sergeant Seth Alie, along with Ossipee emergency crews, arrived at the scene and found the boat still running with no one on it.

The boat came to rest on the porch and crashed partially through the house. No one within the residence had been injured in the crash.

Members of the Ossipee Police Department, West Ossipee Fire Department, Center Ossipee Fire, New Hampshire State Police and New Hampshire State Police - Marine Patrol searched the water and the shore line for any persons injured or involved in the accident.

During the subsequent investigation, police said they determined that the 22-foot Black Four Winns boat was stolen from a mooring at Bluffs Beach in Center Ossipee.

The incident remains under investigation, and state police are asking anyone who may have information or observed the crash to call Sgt. Seth Alie at 603-293-2037.
