SEA Games: M'sia Almost Sure Of Defending Gold Medal

National coach Datuk Ong Kim Swee (pic), whose main goal is to guide the team to win the SEA Games gold medal, can afford to smile after Malaysia were drawn in Group A together with Myanmar, Singapore, Laos and Brunei.

At the official draw for the Games held in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday, the Filipinos landed in a group consisting of 2-time defending champion Thailand, bronze victor Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia and Timor Leste.

Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Timor-leste and Cambodia make up the rest of Group B.

The men's football competition in the Malaysia SEA Games will be an under-22 event.

The 29th SEA Games will be held in Kuala Lumpur from Aug 19-30.
