Randall Park has been cast as S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Jimmy Woo in Marvel's Ant-Man and the Wasp, the Tracking Board revealed.

"Ant-Man and the Wasp" is scheduled to land in theaters on July 6, 2018. Michael Douglas and Michael Peña are also set to return as Hank Pym and Luis.

Details about the Marvel film are being kept secret, but Rudd and Gabriel Ferrari wrote the screenplay, while Kevin Feige will serve as producer, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Paul Rudd is returning in the title role with Evangeline Lilly coming back as Hope van Dyne - a.k.a. the Wasp.

Woo has been a part of Marvel Comics since the mid 1950s, and his inclusion in this film appears to confirm that S.H.I.E.L.D. will be making a triumphant return to the big screen. Ant-Man and the Wasp will be Park and Agent Woo's first introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

A quick delve into the annals of Marvel Comics reveals Woo, whose first appearance dates back to Yellow Claw #1 in 1956, is an Federal Bureau of Investigation agent who formed the so-called "Department Zero and the G-Men" before ultimately joining S.H.I.E.L.D.

Park stars opposite Constance Wu in ABC series Fresh Off the Boat, and also stars on HBO series Veep. He could be seen in this summer's The House and Snatched. Hannah John-Kamen was the only other new cast member previously announced, with a few other female leads still left to be cast.
