In an update posted at 7 p.m. on Sunday (July 2), the NHC said the broad low pressure area had "remained almost stationary" since its last update earlier in the day and was located about 650 miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands.
Further east, the National Hurricane Center and First Alert Forecast team are keeping an eye on a tropical wave located more than 1,500 miles east of the Lesser Antilles or more than 2,000 miles east-southeast of Puerto Rico.
