Have attacked India before, can target anytime we want: Salahuddin

03 Juillet 2017

Salahuddin, who operates out of Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, openly exposed Pakistan's role in terror attacks in India when he told Pakistani channel Geo TV that he "can strike anytime, anywhere in India".

During the interview, poster of Burhan Wani, the Hizbul commander who was gunned down in an enconter by the Indian security forces in Kashmir past year, was also placed near Salahuddin.

However, days after this move, Salahuddin vowed to fight on until India relinquishes control over Jammu and Kashmir.

The Hizbul chief, in his traditional appearance, emerged out of the sunroof of his vehicle and waved to the crowd and made the victory sign.

"No other Western nation has endorsed what this insane Donald Trump has done", he added.

"This idiocy can neither weaken our courage, nor stop the freedom struggle and the target-oriented actions of freedom fighters", he added, saying his fighters' attacks were on legitimate military targets as opposed to civilians.

"Wars are battled with fearlessness and soul that makes you utilize even a stone as a nuclear bomb", he stated, alluding to the stone pelting by unarmed youth in the held Kashmir that has been giving an intense time to the whole occupation hardware.

Salahuddin was reacting to the US State Department's announcement designating him as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT), at a press conference at the Central Press Club in Muzaffarabad, Dawn online reported.

"Donald Trump's decision will be thrown out if anyone challenges it in American courts", Salahuddin said.

A senior leader of the Hizbul Mujahideen, in September 2016 Salahuddin vowed to block any peaceful resolution to the Kashmir conflict. Syed Salahuddin is also known as Mohammad Yusuf Shah and is the chief of the terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen.

Salahuddin had a year ago threatened to turn the Kashmir Valley "into a graveyard for Indian forces".

Salahuddin later led a rally in Muzzafarabad and praised Pakistan for continued support in Kashmir. "As a effect of this designation, U S persons are generally prohibited from engaging in transactions with Salahuddin and all of Salahuddin's property and interests in property subject to United States jurisdiction are blocked", the State Department said in a statement.

Salahuddin also heads the United Jihad Council, the umbrella body set up in the mid-1990s to oversee terror outfits active in Jammu and Kashmir.
