Prez, VP, PM greet people on Eid ul Fitr

"Don't let us forget to continue to assist our leaders in all the tiers of government with prayers, so that they can lead us aright and move the country forward in all ramifications".

Cairo - Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi performed Eid al-Fitr prayers on Sunday in Mohamed Korayem Mosque in the Naval Headquarters in Ras el-Tin, Alexandria.

The President of India, Pranab Mukherjee in his message the President has said, "On the auspicious occasion of Idu'l Fitr, I extend greetings and good wishes to all my fellow citizens, particularly my Muslim brothers and sisters, in India and overseas". Several Bollywood celebrities from Varun Dhawan, Amitabh Bachchan and Anushka Sharma too took to social media to wish their fans on the pious day.

Meanwhile, security forces have thwarted several attacks by terrorist groups, which were seeking to harm the country's security during the Eid holidays.

People also gave alms to the needy who had gathered around the mosques and eidgahs.

It is considered to be more sacred than Eid al-Fitr.

Later they exchanged Eid greetings.
