Frank de Boer named Crystal Palace manager on three-year deal

26 Juin 2017

Palace hinted they were ready to announce the appointment early on Monday morning when they tweeted a video of plumes of white smoke - albeit from a Caribbean takeaway in Croydon, not the Vatican.

The Eagles have been searching for a replacement for Sam Allardyce for just over a month now, and they appear to have decided that De Boer is the man for the job.

He replaced Roberto Mancini at Inter that August, but De Boer won just five games out of his 14 in charge and was sacked two days after a 1-0 loss at Sampdoria that left the Milan club in 12th place.

"Over the last three or four seasons, Palace have been able to pluck one of the well thought of, established Premier League managers, in [Tony] Pulis, [Alan] Pardew and [Sam] Allardyce". This role is a hugely exciting opportunity for me, and I can not wait to get started in the Premier League with the players and staff here in south London'.

Man dies after taking 'pink champagne' MDMA-based drug
Detective Inspector Jim Faulkner, of GMP's Oldham borough, said the amount of people affected is causing "no end of concern". According to the Manchester Evening News , police have ordered a severe warning to avoid taking the drug.

Palace chairman Steve Parish added: "We have undertaken a thorough interview process to ensure we are in a position to appoint a manager of the calibre and experience that Frank brings with him".

He was beaten to the title in his last two campaigns with the club, though the Amsterdam outfit also fell short under new Borussia Dortmund boss Peter Bosz last season.

Veltman, who can play at right-back or in central defence, has always been linked with a move to Spurs as doubts surround the future of Kyle Walker, and a cut-price £8million swoop has been reported.
