Astros hit 3 HRs, finish winning trip by beating Seattle 8-2

26 Juin 2017

McCullers beat Seattle on April 4, when he gave up one run and five hits over six innings to improve to 4-2 with a 2.14 ERA in six career outings and has been dominating Nelson Cruz (1-for-10) while struggling with Robinson Cano (7-for-16). Instead, he led off the third inning.

Holding slim 2-1 margin entering the seventh, the Astros loaded the bases with two outs and Steve Cishek nearly got out of the situation, but Mitch Haniger's attempt at a spectacular diving catch came up empty when the ball popped out of his glove upon impact, allowing the bases to clear. With two outs against Steve Cishek, Brain McCann lashed one down the line that Haniger laid out for and had in his glove, but the impact upon landing jarred the ball loose and it trickled away from Haniger to the side wall, allowing the bases to clear and made it 5-1.

McCullers (lower back) will be activated prior to the contest to make his first starting assignment since June 8.

"I thought he was great", Astros manager A.J.

"It just came out last minute - unfortunate", Haniger said.

Mariners: OF Ben Gamel (groin) didn't play after his 15-game hitting streak was snapped Saturday night.

Houston Astros' George Springer, left, Carlos Correa (1) and Josh Reddick (22) celebrate at home after Brian McCann's three-RBI double as Seattle Mariners catcher Carlos Ruiz reacts during the seventh inning of a baseball game Saturday, June 24, 2017, in Seattle.

After that, Houston's bullpen locked it all down, starting with Feliz (two scoreless innings, no hits, four strikeouts), then Chris Devenski (2 2/3 scoreless innings, two strikeouts) and finally Will Harris (retired four consecutive hitters).

Carlos Correa doubled into the gap in right-center field to score Altuve with the tying run. "I just tried to get ahead and stay ahead".

GOP senator: 'No way' health care bill should move forward
As no Democrat will side with the bill , Republicans will be able to accommodate the opposition of just two of their 52 senators. If Republicans pass this bill, they're the death party." "Health care is a very, very tough thing to get", Pres.

"You just feel really, really fresh, so that's something to get used to", McCullers said. Houston had runners at the corners with one out when Hernandez struck out Yuli Gurriel and got Bregman to fly out. "I'm ready to get back out there". Zunino drew a walk to force in a run, but Ken Giles struck out Ruiz to preserve Houston's win.

Reddick made a pair of sensational diving catches in left, robbing Segura to open the first inning, and preventing a run in seventh with his inning-ending grab of Motter's sinking liner with a runner on second. Astros 1B Marwin Gonzalez was a late scratch for Saturday's game, suffering from what the team called tightness in his right oblique.

"They came up with huge innings and they came in and threw very well", Hinch said. "We'll know more tomorrow, but it was easy to not play him tonight". He has yet to throw off a mound since being placed on the 10-day DL retroactive to June 5.

Also joining the active roster is right-hander Jordan Jankowski.

The pitching matchup today has Francis Martes (2-0, 5.02 ERA) pitching for Houston to face Ariel Miranda (6-3, 4.04) of the Mariners.

The Mariners (39-39) have Monday off before taking on Philadelphia for two games at Safeco Field, including Tuesday at 7 p.m. with James Paxton (5-2, 3.39) pitching for Seattle opposite Aaron Nola (4-5, 4.32). Moore gave up three runs and six hits in seven innings against Detroit.
