Michael Gove, the former Education and Justice Secretary, has been appointed by May as the Environment Secretary.
Green Party co-leader Caroline Lucas is not impressed.
And yet, after six months in the political wilderness - and as is all too often seen in the Old Boys Club of Westminster - privilege and ego have resulted in Murdoch's protege (and Trump's latest admirer) being rewarded: yesterday, Michael Gove was made Secretary of State for Environment and Rural Affairs.
As for the furore over the change to the national curriculum, the BBC's Sean Coughlan says: "Although Gove might have become the lightning rod in this row, it's worth noting that much of the controversial coverage about cutting climate change from geography was not about Gove at all".
He added: "Environment Secretary is a really important job and I am flattered that Theresa May has asked me to rejoin her team and I hope to play a part in ensuring, as we prepare to leave the European Union and things like the Common Agricultural Policy no longer apply, that we safeguard what is best in our environment, and that those who make our countryside lovely and keep it productive are at the very heart of policymaking".
Patel's retention as Secretary of State for International Development is important because it shows May is trying to her fullest to put her best face forward following her party's surprisingly dismal performance in the just-concluded elections.
However, Greenpeace took issue with some of Gove's previous positions on the environment - and said he must travel a long way to prove himself.
Jose Mourinho latest to be accused of tax fraud in Spain
But tax authorities later found that some of the information presented in that settlement was incorrect, the prosecutors said. Ronaldo has denied any wrongdoing, and Madrid issued a statement last week saying it believed the player was innocent.
"I am very, very keen - I may be odd in this respect as Conservative MP - on having more homes built in my constituency".
The Labour Party in the United Kingdom has demanded to know whether newspaper mogul Rupert Murdoch exerted any influence on Michael Gove's return to the cabinet. A major advocate of Britain leaving the European Union, Gove made the opportunity to get rid of EU environmental regulations a key part of his pro-Brexit arguments.
Greg Clark has been confirmed by Mrs May in his position as Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Secretary, Downing Street said.
Formerly a Cabinet minister under David Cameron, he admitted to Sky News he had not expected a recall and was surprised to receive a phone call from Number 10 in his Surrey constituency.
Gove's record when he has been in cabinet has been appalling.
The Conservatives won more seats than any other party with 317, but not enough to form a majority government, so are looking to be propped up by the Democratic Unionist Party, with talks continuing over the coming days.
