Why Gal Gadot Is a Real-Life Wonder Woman

19 Juin 2017

Over the weekend, Jenn and I joined a group of friends in seeing an opening night screening of Wonder Woman.

After Wonder Woman had a huge opening weekend at the box office and shattered records, it was full steam ahead on all the chatter about a sequel. I mean, it's lovely and powerful, and also so sad, because he's dead, and also he won't be back for Wonder Woman 2!

According to THR, Wonder Woman's success gives Jenkins a lot of leverage as she goes into these negotiations. Diana, our Wonder Woman, is a 5,000 year old Amazonian princess trained by her aunt to be another warrior. You want to do a movie like this because you believe in it.

In March 2017, director Patty Jenkins told EW, "The story will take place in the USA, which I think is right. But I think we're all pretty pleased with the film, and you guys have been great, giving us amazingly wonderful positive feedback".

Iran kills man behind deadly Tehran terror attacks
Up to 50 people have been arrested in Iran in connection with terrorist attacks in Tehran last week that left 17 people dead. An Iranian journalist claimed on Twitter that a woman arrested by authorities was a mastermind behind the attacks.

As Doctor Poison was still alive at the end of the movie, it's extremely possible that the villain will return for the next installment of Wonder Woman. The Scottish actress had to step into the role of young Diana in Wonder Woman, and she spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about the experience.

Jenkins doesn't even have an option in place - a contractual safeguard that lets Warner Bros. call her back to duty, one insider said. As someone who has watched this movie more than anything else since its release, I can safely say that the joy of it never wears off.

In a video message, Gal Gadot thanked fans for "giving her the best weekend ever" as Wonder Woman grabbed the top spot at the box office.

"On close-up I looked very much like Wonder Woman", Gadot said. But what's important to me is that girls like my niece now have another story of success paving the way to their own, hopefully brighter, future.
