New York Times Sues FBI To Get Documents Of Trump-Comey Talks

18 Juin 2017

Comey said the notes contain his recollections that Trump asked for his loyalty when they met for a January dinner and then urged him during a private meeting in the Oval Office two weeks later to drop an investigation into former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

The Washington Post reported on Wednesday that Mueller is investigating possible obstruction of justice by Trump.

According to the United States officials who reviewed the intelligence reports describing Kislyak's account, Kushner suggested establishing a secure communications between Trump officials and the Kremlin at the meetings held at a Russian diplomatic facility. Those who have agreed to be interviewed by Mueller's investigators, the Post reported, include Dan Coats, director of national intelligence; Mike Rogers, head of the National Security Agency; and Richard Ledgett, who recently left his role as Rogers' deputy.

Christopher Ruddy, a friend of the president's, on Monday first said that Trump had been "weighing" whether to fire Mueller, who was appointed by Rosenstein after Trump fired Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey in May.

Comey, who was sacked on May 9, told a Senate panel last week he believed Trump dismissed him to undermine the FBI's Russian Federation probe.

"In order to try to attempt to raise a legitimate scenario to fire Mueller, Trump has to discredit him", attorney Jeffrey Jacobovitz, who represented some Clinton-era White House officials, told the Post. An hour later he added: "You are witnessing the single greatest WITCH HUNT in American political history - led by some very bad and conflicted people!"

Painter's comments come as Trump and his allies cast doubt on Mueller's ability to conduct a fair investigation into Russia's role in the 2016 election and possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation. "This investigation is so important to our country that it was incumbent on Rosenstein to find someone who would be beyond question or reproach".

Seize véhicules militaires blindés ont par ailleurs été détruits, de même que quatre quartiers-généraux de Daesh et un dépôt d'armes et de munitions.

Trump is under increasing pressure on the Russian Federation probe.

Trump allies have been questioning whether Mueller can lead an unbiased probe, given that some members of his team have made campaign contributions to Democratic candidates.

"Mueller is setting up a dragnet of obstruction, financial questions and every aspect of Trump's life and his associates lives", Gingrich wrote on Twitter, adding "very unsafe". And as Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) declared in a tweet Thursday, "If Trump fired Mueller (he'd also have to fire Dep AG Rosenstein), it would be an 11 on the Richter scale of #obstructionofjustice". But soon after the abrupt termination, Trump told NBC News that he had been going to fire Comey regardless of any recommendations.

Trump's tweets came after the top lawyer for his transition team warned the organization's officials to preserve all records and other materials related to the Russian Federation probe.

Trump's young presidency has been battered by allegations - under investigation both by Congress and the FBI - that Russian Federation interfered to sway the November election in his favour.

"We do not know what this report refers to", Jamie Gorelick, an attorney for Kushner, said in an email.
