According to Fox News, the handwritten list was found in a van belonging to James Hodgkinson by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the lawmakers named on the list are known to be conservative members associated with the Freedom Caucus.

The FBI renewed its call for information for anyone-from Belleville to Washington, D.C. -may have about congressional shooter James T. Hodgkinson.

"I'm sorry that he did this, but there's nothing I can do about it", she said.

Those who knew him around Belleville have said nothing suggested he was capable of the attack on members of Congress, in spite of his often stated, very strong, and well-documented anti-Republican views.

"I think that an excellent recovery is a good possibility", Dr. Jack Sava, director of trauma at MedStar Washington Hospital Center said at a news conference Friday afternoon. But when his wife was specifically asked if politics "consumed" him, she refused to say.

Her brief talk Thursday with reporters indicated a man in turmoil, not necessarily a violent man, but a man beset by problems both at home and professionally. She was flanked by a local county deputy when standing in front of a plethora of microphones.

Before moving out to the nation's capital, Hodgkinson, a union tradesman with a home inspection business, had already exhibited some disturbing behavior. She said she hadn't known much about what he was up to before he left because she works for a tax firm and was busy for much of the time from January to March.

She explained, her husband sold his southern IL home inspection business months ago.

In Belleville, residents continued to grapple with the news that one of their own, a man many knew could be quick to anger, but who many said didn't show outward signs of violence, could have committed the mass shooting.

Trump speaks about apprenticeship initiative
UPDATED Trump's desire to pare back regulations that stand in the way of creating new apprenticeships anxious some lawmakers. Trump's top aides have made it clear that he envisions a far wider reach for apprenticeships than now exists.

The visibly shaken woman told reporters she hadn't seen her husband since he left.

Hodgkinson wrote above a photo of Handel: "Republican Bitch Wants People to Work for Slave Wages, when a Livable Wage is the Only Way to Go!"

But she maintained there was nothing she could have done about it.

She said she didn't know anything about his purchasing weapons.

Investigators said they have not found any evidence indicating Hodgkinson planned the attack.

She said she knew of no obvious catalyst for her husband's leaving, though she mentioned her daughter had recently moved back home with a child. The widow said her husband might have chose to leave for a while simply because he desired a "break from it".

"He was out of money", Mrs. Hodgkinson said.

Hodgkinson, a Belleville, Illinois, home inspector who had been living out of his van near the park, had a social media page filled with criticism of Republicans and the Trump administration. Scalise was undergoing his third surgery on Thursday, but sources have said his life is not in jeopardy. But people here are wondering, you know, how much the political divide now in the country has to do with what happened. They don't deserve this.

As we reported yesterday, Democrats in Congress have graciously reached out to Republicans, starting with praying for them Wednesday morning and joining them in prayer at the Congressional baseball game yesterday.
