Clinical India run over hapless Pakistan in ICC Champions Trophy

17 Juin 2017

Kohli's master-class from 68 balls helped India post 319 for three in their 48 overs in a match interrupted by rain, after their innings had desperately needed a spark.

Under scoreboard pressure and with their target revised to 289 in 41 overs on Duckworth/Lewis, Pakistan never came close.

With Kohli spoilt for choice in the fast bowling department at the moment, the question was if the India captain would go with two pacers or three. The left-handed batsman came forward and amassed some quick runs which kept score board busy, Kohli described. Umesh Yadav took 3-30, including the last two wickets with Wahab Riaz absent hurt.

"Let's get something straight first off. Wahab Riaz was fully fit". On the other end, Rohit, making his worldwide comeback, was playing a start and stop inning.

While Kohli on the other hand, was struggling for timing, Yuvraj had been put down once by Hassan Ali. In this case, he was promoted up the order, ahead of more accomplished batsmen like Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav.

You can see a man wrapped in the Indian tricolour sitting with a woman with Pakistan's flag sitting on the stands and simply enjoying the game of cricket. They scored 124 in those last eight, and the momentum went to India. The field spread up, and ball a little older, Sharma began to open his arms and played some glorious shots to bring up his half-century.

How much time could Bill Cosby face?
Victims' right groups have said Constand is a flashpoint for a larger cause but that it does not diminish her case. Cosby arrived at court arm-in-arm with his wife, Camille, on Monday, marking her first appearance at the trial.

Soon, in the very next over, Dhawan also brought up his 50 with a fine shot at backward point.

The Indians didn't have to wait long either for a fourth wicket when Shoaib Malik was dismissed for 15 when Jadeja ran him out with a fantastic bit off fielding.

Pakistan were donated a wicket, however, when Dhawan hoisted a full toss from teenage leg-spinner Shadab Khan straight to Azhar at deep midwicket.

After a 45-minute hiatus, the Virat-Rohit partnership soon ended in the latter's run-out - and he missed a well-deserved ton. Kohli had wanted the single but misjudged the speed of Babar Azam's reactions.

Indian Sports Minister Vijay Goel said there was no chance of bilateral ties being resumed with Pakistan at this stage and gave the BCCI a tongue lashing for speaking to the PCB without consulting government first.

The pressure started building on the bowlers and fielders and, as a result, they dropped Yuvraj and Kohli in the process, which cost them hugely in the death overs.
