Warriors Win The 2017 NBA Finals

16 Juin 2017

THE Golden State Warriors made a strong case to be called one of the best teams in National Basketball Association history after a near-perfect run through the playoffs resulted in their second title in three years.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich defender Mats Hummels tweeted about it, saying: "Impressing. KD".

After being sidelined for part of last season and again during the 2017 playoffs with back pain, head coach Steve Kerr returned during the Finals and said he intends to coach "for a long time".

Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 39 and 34 points respectively.

Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston: These two are the players most affected by Durant's decision because Golden State will have full Bird rights should they not have to renounce the duo to get under the salary cap. "He's had an unbelievable career, but he just took it to the next level", said Warriors head coach Steve Kerr.

"To do something I love to do and know she knows I love it so much and she knows how much I come home at night and stress and how happy I am when I play the game", Durant said of his mom. Malone averaged 24.5 points and a league-leading 15.3 rebounds while winning his second straight MVP award and made his boast that the 76ers would sweep every series in four games. Thompson pitched in 16.4 points while Green averaged a triple-double (11.0 points, 10.2 rebounds), and both of them were at the top of their defensive game throughout most of the series.

When they look back, the Cavs are going to to look at the first game in Cleveland as the great lost opportunity. Although they dominated teams during the regular season with pick-and-rolls between Curry and Green, the Cavaliers figured out that they could simply switch James and Thompson onto Curry since Green isn't someone who can routinely punish smaller players in the post.

Rick Pitino suspended five games for Louisville basketball sex scandal
A self-imposed postseason ban for 2015-16 was also accepted by the Division One Committee on Infractions. But Pitino isn't taking his suspension lying down; Louisville is now appealing the NCAA's decision.

Durant shot 14 for 20 and Curry - the two-time reigning MVP who took a backseat as the new big star got acclimated - finished off a brilliant postseason.

And looking at the Warriors roster, many more could be on the way.

The 2017 NBA Championship title was a long-awaited, first-time title for finals MVP Kevin Durant. "He's had an fantastic career, but he just took it to the next level", coach Steve Kerr said.

Durant accepted that he was jittery before the final match.

"Maybe [Trump] doesn't [invite us] and we don't go, or we don't say anything and make a big deal of it, and he doesn't make a big deal of it and we go our separate ways", he said.

None of that was an issue for the Warriors as Durant has been called an unselfish player whose only desire was to do whatever is in the best interests of his team. If a superstar can get about the same salary by switching to a much better team, there's little incentive not to do so.

"It was 55 seconds left, and I went other over to half court line and I bent down, and I'm like, is this really happening?"
