Trump Under Investigation For Possible Obstruction Of Justice

15 Juin 2017

Justice Department special counsel Robert Mueller is investigating President Donald Trump for obstruction of justice, The Washington Post reported Wednesday evening.

The move by Special Counsel Robert Mueller to investigate Trump's own conduct marks a major turning point in the almost year-old FBI investigation, which until recently focused on Russian meddling during the presidential campaign and on whether there was any coordination between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin. "While the president has every right to" fire Mr. Mueller, "he has no intention to do so", the White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters late Tuesday after a day of speculation over Mr. Mueller's fate. Investigators are also considering the conversations Comey and the president had leading up to that point. And I think that the appointment of Mr. Mueller by the deputy attorney general in his capacity as acting attorney general was an excellent appointment.

Rosenstein is charged with Mueller's fate because Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from all matters having to do with the Trump-Russia investigation.

Rosenstein, who appointed Mueller, on Tuesday said: "As long as I'm in this position, he's not going to be fired without good cause".

Probe launched after Trump fired James Comey as Federal Bureau of Investigation director. A Tuesday night New York Times report appears to confirm that Trump has, in fact, talked about canning Mueller, though his aides have managed to prevent him from doing so - at least for now. South Carolina Republican Lindsey Graham, who is unafraid to tangle with Trump, said firing Mueller would be "a disaster, " since the special counsel had done nothing to be fired.

Franchy came in warmed and ready and cranked his second homer of the season to center, catching an 86 miles per hour four-seamer. He said he benefited from moving to the center of the rubber during a recent bullpen session.

The Trump Organisation has said it will donate profits from customers representing foreign governments to the US Treasury but will not require such customers to identify themselves.

"I think that's the wrong answer right now", he said.

Said Ryan: "I know Bob Mueller".

Trump reportedly became aware of the longtime relationship between Mueller and Comey after being alerted to reports on Breitbart News and other conservative media outlets.

The Senate Intelligence Committee hearing is the latest step in multiple ongoing investigations into Russian meddling in last year's USA presidential election. They have begun questioning whether Mueller's wide-ranging investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election is becoming too political. In the abstract, he would be the right selection as special counsel in the Russian Federation investigation.

Rosenstein deflected by saying that it's possible the memo - and therefore the Comey firing - is part of Mueller's investigation and shouldn't be discussed openly.
