GS Warriors Unanimously Say No To White House Visit

15 Juin 2017

The issue of visiting the White House has been a simmering topic since President Trump won the recent election. Reports have emerged the winning team may snub Trump, but the Warriors was quick to refute the claim.

Yet because the NFL's New England Patriots visited the White House in April, a pro sports precedent has been set that would make it odd if an invitation wasn't extended to the National Basketball Association champs.

Given comments that both Curry and Steve Kerr have said in the past about Donald Trump, it wouldn't be surprising if the Warriors decline the invitation. "Y'all might write about it".

Though NBA commissioner Adam Silver has implied all champions should be honored to receive an invitation from the White House, regardless of the resident, the Warriors - players, coaches and beyond - have been clear in disavowing Trump's conduct and policies. Some of them, however, have hinted the team is not interested about a White House visit.

"We're going to do what our leader [Curry] does", Iguodala said. Last year's champions, the Cavaliers, were there much sooner when they made the trip in November 2016. I hope they do hold a unanimous vote and instead decide to do something far more meaningful with their time and influence instead of allowing Trump to smile in their faces while he harms the very people and causes they care about the most. That's a realistic thing to say though, right?

Looking at some alternate time periods, the 12 month price index is 1.63939, the 24 month is 0.97771, and the 36 month is 1.19338. Looking further, the MF Rank (aka the Magic Formula) is a formula that pinpoints a valuable company trading at a good price.

"Somebody asked me about it a couple months ago, like a hypothetical, if a championship were to happen what I'd do and I think I answered 'I wouldn't go, '" he said.

'Hell nah, ' he said of taking part in a visit.

As Iguodala sees it, the Trump administration has made matters worse when it comes to the racial divide in America.

After Golden State general manager Bob Myers said Monday he fully expects Kerr to be the team's coach next year, Kerr said Wednesday he is "planning to coach for a long time". As Iguodala discussed, there's a strong sense in the African-American community that racists have been emboldened by the current climate. I think Andre [Iguodala] and Draymond [Green] may have been asked about it, and David West.

When it comes to the Warriors, he's not alone in that view.
