Refs clarify odd Draymond Green-Steve Kerr technical foul switcheroo

13 Juin 2017

"I don't pay much attention to anybody in Cleveland", he said, responding to a reporter's question after the game.

Green elevated his arms to the crowd when the Warriors received notice of his supposed second technical foul, as if to tell fans, "Bring it on". "But still trying to figure out why did I get the second one".

"I love the vibe we had in the locker room after the game, understanding what we need to do differently to play better, to have a better first punch in that first six minutes, to play with more force and aggressiveness and physicality".

All over the floor, bodies were flying, with Green's offensive foul on Iman Shumpert in the first quarter and apparent ejection in the third quarter before the officials overturned a first-half technical on him. Those guys wanted it.

A year after his antics on this floor led to a suspension for Game 5 that began the Warriors' historic collapse, the fiery forward was again in the middle of the night's strangest scene. "If we wanted to play more physical, how could we?" And, in the end, James and Irving delivered elite Finals performances - delivered this series back to Oakland with a 137-116 victory in Game 4.

Needless to say, Green was not afraid to call out the referees and overall game officiating that got out of hand.

Cavaliers season ends with Game 5 loss to Warriors
Curry , who laced up a mostly white pair of the Under Armour Curry 4 on Monday, scored 34 points on 10-of-20 shooting. Golden State responded with a 10-3 run, Durant scoring five as the Warriors stretched their margin back to 108-98.

It was only one part of a confusing and emotionally charged third quarter.

The Warriors also won titles in 1947 and 1956, when the team was based in Philadelphia, and took the crown in 1975 and 2015 after moving to the San Francisco Bay area. The problem then worsened when the officials didn't catch the public address announcer saying it was called on Green.

"You guys win one game and want to start talking insane", Green said to no one in particular on his walk out of the arena.

"They messed that one up bad", Green said. Unlike a year ago, the Warriors will head into Game 5, another potential closeout, with their gritty forward available. And you give us a day in between, and we were ready to come out.

Last season it was the Cleveland Cavaliers who took the crown, digging out of a 3-1 Finals lead before claiming the throne.

Late in Game 4 past year, Green swiped at LeBron James' groin and was subsequently given a flagrant foul.
