From a primarily Eurasian construct, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) now expands its footprint in the Indian sub-continent with the induction of India as a full member.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who attended the summit, thanked SCO member countries for giving support to India's induction. In his address, Modi said SCO could also devote attention towards climate change.
