Speaking at a ceremony marking the 50 anniversary of the Six Day War at the armored corps memorial at Latrun, Netanyahu said Israel seeks "true peace" with its neighbors, but must ensure its own security.

The Palestinian foreign ministry said in a statement: "Netanyahu wants to cut off the momentum of United States and worldwide efforts to resume negotiations between Palestinians and Israelis". Similarly, 55 percent said it would have been "wise" to annex Judea and Samaria following the war.

Syria controls the eastern third of the territory, and Israel has failed to take control there. "Which means that Israel will cease to be a Jewish and democratic state... unless we - the Israelis - will impose an apartheid over the Palestinians".

Ostapenko servait pour le gain du deuxième set après avoir perdu le premier contre Wozniacki (6-4, 2-5). Curieusement, Nadal a lui aussi concédé sa mise en jeu à deux reprises dans la première manche.

"I, as a Palestinian, citizen of Israel, I really want this occupation to end; I want people to have their freedom, my people, my Palestinian people", said another protester in the above video.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed Tuesday to "forever" maintain control of the Golan Heights, which was captured during the 1967 Arab-Israeli War, or the Six Day War.

"We would have hoped that he would use this anniversary to address the Palestinian condition and call for peace and resolution in a fair-minded and historically accurate manner", Greenblatt concluded.

Shapiro and Stern believe coming to a consensus on borders and strong, peace-minded leadership from both the Israelis and Palestinians will create the safest and most successful two-state solution.

The US president did not speak publicly about the settlements during a May 22-23 visit to Jerusalem and the West Bank, though he urged Israeli and Palestinian leaders to "make a deal" for peace that would entail compromise and tough decisions.

When Yitzhak Yifat, as a young man 50 years ago, fought through the narrow streets of Jerusalem's Old City, he felt "an overwhelming sense of excitement" when he reached the Western Wall.
