Apple Announces 'Do Not Disturb' Mode For Drivers

10 Juin 2017

Apple's senior vice president of software engineering, Craig Federighi, announced the feature at the company's Worldwide Developers Conference in San Jose, Calif., on Monday.

Apps that only run in 32-bit will not show up in search results in the new version of the App Store, or be available from the Purchased tab if they have been downloaded previously. Then, click "yes", and the new device will be connected. System-wide drag and drop, which means dragging from anywhere and dropping to any app, is available only for iPads.

"Beyond an overly exhaustive list of incremental software features, Apple's new products offered little in the way of meaningful incremental profit opportunities", Hargreaves said in a note to clients.

It is true that even this highly profitable pile of money is more about Apple's past than its future.

One of the more interesting features is built-in screen recording, but while I attempted to record my video with it, it crashed, so I was forced to use my normal app for screen mirroring. Apple, however, has kept mum about the system's automatic disabling feature for apps like Uber and Waze.

According to the document, applications will now be able to use the chip to "read tags to give users more information about their physical environment and the real-world objects in it".

This latter feature will be particularly welcome, as Apple devices are often criticized for having sub-power battery lifecycles. The iPad Pro 2 will be instantly recognizable to anyone familiar with the Pro range.

Meanwhile, the iOS 11 update will improve digital assistant Siri's voice and language capabilities with the help of machine learning and artificial intelligence.

Apple is trying to combat the number of preoccupied drivers on the road with a new feature, aimed at limiting a driver's ability to be distracted.

Think mobile payments, but also hotel room access, or instant one-tap access to a Wi-Fi network (Android users have been playing around with NFC tags for years of course). With iOS 11, that part of iOS's settings menu is now known as "iPhone Storage" (presumably, it's called "iPad Storage" on Apple's line of tablets, though we haven't had a chance to verify that fact just yet).

According to recent reports, Apple plans to launch three new iPhones this year sometime after the release of iOS 11: an iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus, and a new flagship phone rumored to be named the "iPhone Edition".

Now that you have successfully set up this new iOS 11 feature, it is time to learn how to use it.
