Cosby's lurid decade-old testimony is read to the jury

Cosby also reportedly told a cop that he and Constand never actually had sex, and she only ever "rejected his advances" one time. He said he was concerned that Constand had stayed in touch with Cosby after the alleged assault and waited a year to call police.

Only Constand's accusation has resulted in criminal charges because the other alleged incidents are too old to prosecute.

Cosby also said he had been blackmailed before and was anxious about the nature of phone calls between himself, Andrea Costand and her mother, Gianna Costand. Cosby eventually settled the case for an undisclosed sum, and his deposition was sealed for years, until a judge released parts in 2015 at the request of The Associated Press.

Constand didn't go to police until January 2005. Thursday's court session included extensive statements from a Cosby deposition and a police interview.

"I was mistaken", Constand testified, referring to the March 16 date she had previously given.

In his 2005 statement to Cheltenham and Montgomery County investigators, taken at Cosby's attorneys' office in New York City, Cosby said he gave the woman one and a half tablets of Benadryl after she told him she was feeling tense and having trouble sleeping.

An enormous screen, placed steps away from the jury box, displayed a transcript of the entertainer talking about giving Andrea Constand, his alleged victim, pills that he called her "friends", "spooning" her, and touching her breasts and genitals. As soon as she got down, her mother became the next witness and raised eyebrows with harrowing testimony, including the revelation that Cosby told her while explaining his actions during the night of the alleged assault, "I feel bad telling you this". When asked directly if he had intercourse with Constand, Cosby answered, "never asleep or awake".

Constand, a former administrator for the women's basketball program at Cosby's alma mater, Temple University, has accused Cosby of drugging and sexually assaulting her in his Philadelphia-area home in 2004.

Prosecutors on Thursday read into the record his decade-old testimony about what he said were several sexual encounters with Andrea Constand that culminated in him giving her pills and then reaching into her trousers.

"Probably the first time I saw her", Cosby responded, referring to seeing Constand at Temple University's arena. Plus, just to further illustrate his generosity, he apparently once tried to get her a job at the William Morris Agency, which happened to be the place where Kelly Johnson-another Cosby accuser who testified earlier in the week-used to work.

Cosby maintained that on every occasion Constand was a willing participant. Constand, however, testified the two never had a romantic relationship. Cosby said he did, Schaffer said.

Cosby did, however, remember apologizing to Gianna Constand, and then offering to pay for Andrea Constand to go to graduate school, Schaffer said.

Cosby told police he felt he was "under attack" during the call, saying Gianna Constand was antagonistic.

Also in his testimony, Schaffer was briefly questioned by Assistant District Attorney Stewart Ryan about the phone records that dominated much of testimony Tuesday and Wednesday.

Later in the afternoon, jurors learned what Cosby says was inside the bag: a homeopathic pain reliever called Arnica Montana, a blood pressure pill, and Benadryl. However, in a later interview and in her testimony this week Constand said the incident occurred in mid-January 2004.

McMonagle also drew attention to other changes Constand made to a written statement about an encounter with Cosby in a hotel room in November 2003, in which she crossed out a mention that her legs were touching Cosby's while the two were lying in bed.

Evidence presented Thursday shows the team had a game on February 14, 2004. Steele relied on Reape to read the testimony to the jury as they viewed it on large projection screen.
