20 Mai 2017

A statement from the singer's publicist said his widow, Vicky Karayiannis Cornell, and the rest of the family "were shocked to learn of his sudden and unexpected passing" and thanked fans for "their continuous love and loyalty".

"Chris' death is a loss that escapes words and has created an emptiness in my heart that will never be filled", Vicky Cornell added.

Soundgarden had one of the heaviest sounds in grunge with trappings of heavy metal, even though Cornell cited The Beatles, to whom he listened constantly as a child, as his biggest influence.

Lisa Croff, of the Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office, said they have Cornell's body and expect to release more information later this afternoon.

Will Beekman, Kirby Center executive director, said he had been discussing possible dates for Cornell's return to the Kirby stage with a promoter earlier that day.

Cornell, 52, was found dead in his hotel's bathroom an hour after wrapping up his concert with the band in Detroit's Fox Theatre, reported The Telegraph.

The FC panel debate the best team in worldwide football and highlight Brazil's impressive resurgence. Brazil have two upcoming friendlies in Melbourne against Argentina and Australia June 9 and 13.

"I went from being a daily drug user at 13 to having bad drug experiences and quitting drugs by the time I was 14, and then not having any friends until the time I was 16", he said.

The band's music style is known as "grunge", which became popular in the 1990s with the success of Soundgarden and other bands like Pearl Jam and Nirvana. "It was like a Detroit, only northwest kind of. There's no reason that I would think I know how to define it, but it's always been there".

The band, which had released hit songs and found success, marked a mainstream breakthrough with "Superunknown", its 1994 album that won them two Grammys, sold more than five million units in the USA, and launched five hits, including "Black Hole Sun", one of the most popular alternative rock songs from the 1990s. He later went on to form Audioslave in 2001 with members of Rage Against the Machine.

His songs such as Fell On Black Days and The Day I Tried to Live appeared to touch on his darkness, but Chris Cornell would play down deeper meanings that listeners heard in his lyrics. Soundgarden, who split in acrimony in 1997, reunited and Cornell released a series of solo albums as well as a theme song for the James Bond film Casino Royale.

She also detailed the days leading up to the rocker's death, which has been ruled a suicide.

Of course it's a story about death and Seattle music. "A good songwriter, a great musician. and still so relevant".
