Warriors trounce Spurs, take 2-0 series lead

19 Mai 2017

The Cavaliers swept Detroit and Atlanta in the first two rounds of the postseason and took a quick 2-0 lead over Toronto in the Eastern Conference finals before losing five of its next eight playoff games.

San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich gestures during the first half of Game 1 of the NBA basketball Western Conference finals between the Golden State Warriors and the Spurs in Oakland, Calif., Sunday, May 14, 2017.

Stephen Curry scored a game-high 29 points in three quarters for the Warriors, who became just the fifth team to win their first 10 games of the postseason. We didn't come to play. "At the end, all we did was what we were supposed to do, we took care of home court". On the Warriors' second possession, Kevin Durant used a hard Zaza Pachulia screen and the threat of his drive to stick a 15-footer over a late-to-react Pau Gasol.

Curry's points haul included 6 3-pointers as the Warriors all-round offensive power crushed a San Antonio Spurs line-up missing the injured Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker.

That move skipped off the rim like the majority of San Antonio's shots in this loss, with Popovich calling San Antonio's failure "pretty collective". Whether they win or they lose, I want to see how they play.

"So then we get to the part where you're about to turn right into the gate at the last red light".

"We felt sorry for ourselves", Popovich said. If Kawhi Leonard plays, the Spurs can find themselves in a tight game and right back in this series. They will meet the Spurs again on Saturday, May 20, in San Antonio.

Pachulia left the game injured for a Warriors team already without key reserve forward Andre Iguodala, held out because of soreness in his left knee that limited him to 10 minutes in Game 1. A barrage of outside shots and clean looks allowed Golden State to compile 39 points and push their lead to 28.

C'est le dernier acte de Ségolène Royal. "Cela symbolisera le renouveau du nucléaire français", a-t-il ajouté. Celui-ci s'est déjà rendu sur la ZAD et fait de ce projet un des symboles de son combat.

The Spurs came out of halftime looking more determined, but the Warriors were ready for them. Simmons completed a 3-point play 31 seconds later, beginning a stretch in which the two sides would alternate scores until Durant followed a David West layup with a jumper at the 3:04 mark to increase Golden State's lead to 64-35.

Simmons started in Leonard's place and made 6 of 9 shots to begin the game while the rest of the Spurs were 3 for 22.

Even if Leonard returns in Game 3, as it seems like he will but has been far from confirmed, there's no guarantee he's 100 percent.

"I have no idea".

"Then I get this phone call: Gregg Popovich", Brown said.

"The only way I can process this is it's not about O's and X's, rebounds, turnovers or anything like that", Popovich said. I don't think they started the game with the belief and it showed in the lack of edge, intensity, grunt, you know, all that sort of thing, and that was disappointing. Still, he's shot just 3-of-14 over two games and provided the team with little of his trademark spark on either end. You know, I don't understand it. "I see the auto trying to inch forward, I'm like, 'He's about to get arrested.' I said, 'Pop, this is my own building.' He goes, 'I know, when I saw it was you, I died laughing'". After he went 1 for 8 and missed all six of his 3s in the first game, he finally hit from long range midway through the second Tuesday.

Kerr is recovering from a May 5 procedure at Duke University to fix a spinal fluid leak and Mike Brown has been coaching during his absence, but the reigning NBA Coach of the Year has been attending practices again and addressing the team in the locker room while watching games behind the scenes.
