"Just leaving Senate floor", tweeted Sen. He spoke Tuesday night at a dinner where he was receiving the International Republican Institute's Freedom Award.
Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., emphatically said he's not commenting on news stories anymore. "Memos, transcripts, tapes - the list keeps getting longer", he said. "You know he was invited to come testify before the Intelligence Committee and he said he wanted to do it in an open setting, so I'm sure we'll be hearing from him".
Mr Comey was sacked as FBI Director last week. At that dinner, on January 27, Trump asked Comey at least two times for a pledge of loyalty which Comey declined, according to one of Comey's associates.
Version One: White House aides initially disputed the premise of the reporting.
"Telling the FBI director to close down an investigation of your senior campaign adviser for his activities during your campaign for president, if that's true, that is obstruction of justice".
From the question and answer, it is unclear whether McCabe was speaking only about Comey's firing not interfering with the Russian Federation investigations, or whether he was saying that there was no effort to impede in any Trump-related matter. In his letter firing Comey, Trump said he was assured that he wasn't.
The letter gives the Federal Bureau of Investigation a week to produce the records.
Comey's account of the February talk made it clear that his understanding of the conversation was that the president was seeking to impede the investigation, according to people who have read the account or had it read to them. John Cornyn, R-Texas, told reporters.
Farenthold says Comey would have been duty-bound to report to the Justice Department any command to stop the investigation. "He is a good guy", Trump allegedly said. "Quit investigating, damn it'".
Mitch McConnell, the Republican leader of the Senate, said he was not losing confidence in Trump as president but added, "It would be helpful to have less drama emanating from the White House".

The post explains Shadow Brokers main motivation in its activities as a competition of sorts, pitting itself against the NSA. Once somebody gets the data dump from the Shadow Brokers, Dillon said, the exploits would most likely become public.
Democrats reacted sharply to the news, calling for Comey to testify about what he knows.
Comey "needs to come back before the Congress", Schiff said, and "share with the public what conversations he had with the president" - including whether Trump tried to obstruct the investigation in any way. "I have my subpoena pen ready". "He wrote a number of memos, a great many if not all were about contacts with Trump - particularly the ones that made him feel uneasy".
According to the director's notes, Comey did not respond directly to the president's entreaties, only agreeing with Trump's assertion that Flynn "is a good guy".
Schumer said he was "shaken" by the report that Trump asked Comey "to shut down an active investigation into a close political associate". The Flynn investigation was part of a broader probe into Russian interference in last year's presidential election.
Neither NBC News nor The Times has seen the actual memo. Alone in the Oval Office, Mr. Trump began the discussion by condemning leaks to the news media, saying that Mr. Comey should consider putting reporters in prison for publishing classified information, according to one of Mr. Comey's associates.
An FBI spokesman declined to comment.
In this February 1, 2017, file photo, National Security Adviser Michael Flynn speaks during the daily news briefing at the White House, in Washington. The newspaper cites a memo Comey wrote following the meeting.
After Comey was sacked, Trump tweeted a threat at the former director.
Some Republicans also called for action, asking Comey to speak to Congress and demanding that any memos or recordings of his conversations with the president be presented to them.
The White House said that while the president has repeatedly expressed his view that Flynn is a "decent man", he has never asked Comey or anyone else to end any investigations involving him.
