IAS officer found dead in Lucknow

Kumar said that the police control room received a call on Wednesday morning about a man lying on the roadside near the guest house at Meerabai Marg. According to staff, he went out for a morning walk but never returned.

He said a team of forensic experts from Lucknow's State Forensic Science Laboratory will examine the officer's body and that the exact cause of his death could be ascertained after a post-mortem examination.

The police have, however, refused to make any comment saying that they are investigating the case and would be able to come to some conclusion only after the post mortem report and statements of family members.

35-year-old Tiwari, IAS (KN:07), was a native of Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich district and had recently discharged his duty as the District Commissioner of Bidar in Karnataka, an official told Bureaucracy Today. Barely covering a distance of 300 metres from his room, Tiwari collapsed on the road. The Police have also found some blood from the spot.

A 2007 batch IAS officer, Tiwari had completed B. Tech in electrical engineering from the Institute of Engineering and Technology, Lucknow. Singh said "It appears that his BP shot up rapidly". However, the possibilities of a road accident or attack have been ruled out by the police. Forensic team reaches civil hospital mortuary to examine the corpse.
