Totti's penultimate home match could see Juventus win title

13 Mai 2017

New Roma sporting director Monchi last week confirmed that this campaign would be Totti's last as a player, telling a press conference that the 40-year-old had an agreement with the board to take a role as a director.

However Totti stated to Italian press during an event in Rome that he didn't know if May 28th - the final day of the Serie A season - would be his last as a player.

However, Totti published a statement on his Twitter page which appeared to deny this claim, and instead insisted he was completely focused on the club's forthcoming Serie A clash against league leaders Juventus.

"The rest will come after and there will be time to talk about it".

Defeat would leave it four points ahead of second-place Roma.

Ses découvertes sont publiées dans la revue scientifique eLife et, a souligné Lee Berger, ouvertes à toute critique. Le paléontologue est également revenu à la charge sur une autre controverse suscitée par sa découverte initiale.

Tickets for that match were released on Thursday, two weeks early, and fans were lining up outside one of the main ticket points three hours before it opened in order not to miss the chance to salute their idol.

Totti, 40, has been at Roma since he was 13, made his first-team debut in 1993 and became the club's all-time appearance record holder and top scorer.

The Roma legend has spent his entire 25-year career with his hometown club. Pescara-based politician Antonio Razzi has urged him to join the city's club, which will play in Serie B next season under Zdenek Zeman - the former Roma coach who made Totti captain almost two decades ago.

Many Roma and football fans in general, are disappointed Totti was not allowed to announced his own retirement from a club he has given so much to - and on his own terms. "It would be nice for him to continue playing at Pescara, with Zeman on the bench". On which grounds Sky makes this claim isn't readily clear, after all it was only five days ago that Totti told the world, "you'll know at the end of the season", but considering the source, we can at the very least call it well-reasoned speculation.
