Fiancee: Aaron Hernandez thought he was going to be freed

12 Mai 2017

Former NFL player Aaron Hernandez sounded as if he thought he would soon be freed in his last conversation with his fiancee before he killed himself.

Speaking publicly for the first time since her fiancée Aaron Hernandez's death, Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez expressed doubts about what actually happened inside his prison cell that day. "She does not believe he killed himself, surprisingly, because the evidence is pretty overwhelming", he said.

PHIL episodes air Monday, May 15th and Tuesday, May 16th at 3:00 P.M. on 22News.

Hernandez was serving life in prison without parole for the 2013 murder of Odin L. Lloyd of Boston. "I can't wait to hold you and love you" in a telephone conversation hours before he was found hanged in his prison cell at Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley, Massachusetts, on April 19. Since Hernandez was appealing that conviction when he committed suicide, the obscure law states that his death essentially vacated all proceedings.

Matt Harvey apologizes to Mets, explains why he didn't show up Saturday
The New York Post's Mike Puma reports that the team does not want Harvey to start Wednesday in a "hostile environment" at home. Harvey pitched in Atlanta a few hours after seeing the photos and it didn't go well: He gave up 6 runs in 5 innings.

In an appearance on the Today Show earlier this morning, Dr. Phillip McGraw divulged that Jenkins-Hernandez isn't expecting any financial benefits from her fiancé's death.

Hernandez was acquitted in a 2012 Boston double slaying days before he killed himself.

According to McGraw, Jenkins-Hernandez is not expected to receive payment from the team.

The fiancee of former National Football League player Aaron Hernandez says she thought his suicide was a hoax. Not to mention, the ex-New England Patriot wrote three letters, one of which was to Jenkins-Hernandez.
